RTVue is an ultra-high speed, high resolution OCT retina scanner used for retina imaging and analysis. It is based on the next generation Fourier-Domain Optical Coherence technology just emerging from clinical research in the last two years. The ultra-high speed and high resolution features enable the FD-OCT to visualize the retinal tissue with ultra-high clarity in a fraction of seconds.

VISUAL FIELD ANALYSIS --

The Humphrey Visual Field Analyzer II is used to detect loss of retinal function as glaucoma progresses. Our office also utilizes FDT visual field technology as a free service included in every comprehensive eye examination. FDT has been found to be sensitive at detecting early visual field loss from optic nerve and retinal disease. By compiling and analyzing information on nerve fiber layer thickness, visual field sensitivity, and optic nerve structure, we can detect glaucoma earlier and monitor it more closely than ever before.

It is important to be aware of this advanced technology as nearly 50% of individuals with glaucoma are not aware that they have the disease. Diagnosing glaucoma takes more than testing eye pressure. A glaucoma screening is included as a part of every comprehensive eye exam performed at Complete Vision Care. For those found to be at risk, additional testing using the advanced technology mentioned above is recommended.
